Writers Forum February 14 Meeting: Marketing and the Modern Author

On Saturday, February 14, Writers Forum presents a comprehensive six-hour seminar for published and pre-published authors. The event is designed to help writers focus on their potential readers and engage with them by establishing a platform. Award-winning thriller writer Simon Wood will demonstrate social networking techniques to build a solid platform that will attract and keep a readership. These same techniques have helped him sell more than 500,000 books since 2011.

Wood is a California transplant from England and a frequent contributor to Writer’s Digest. In the past ten years, he’s had over 150 stories and articles published. An Anthony Award winner and a Crime Writers Dagger Award finalist, he’s the author of Working Stiffs, Accidents Waiting to Happen, Paying the Piper, Terminated, We All Fall Down, Asking for Trouble, The Fall Guy, Hot Seat, Did Not Finish and The One That Got Away. He writes horror under the pen name of Simon Janus. Those titles include The Scrubs and Road Rash.

The event takes place at All Saints Episcopal Church, 2150 Benton Drive, Redding, CA 96003, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sign in begins at 9:30 a.m. Cost is $25 for Writers Forum members and $40 for nonmembers and includes lunch, beverages and valuable handouts.
