Nash Ranch Mud Mash on September 27 to Benefit Library

The second Nash Ranch Mud Mash will be held September 27 and will benefit the Shasta Library Foundation, with proceeds helping improve the Shasta Public Libraries in Redding, Anderson, and Burney.

The 5K Mud Run will be held in the fields at the historic Nash Ranch. Race times start at 10:00 am for the first heat. Registration is $35 for a team of five people and $40 per individual (fees increase by $5 after September 19). There will be 22 obstacles, mud, and a lot of fun. There will also be a two mile free fun walk on the dirt roads throughout Nash Ranch where spectators can view the course and see friends and family members complete the obstacles.

According to event organizer, Brad Frost, Shasta Library Foundation Board Member and owner of Fitness Express, ”
This race will challenge your body and your tolerance for getting down right dirty. This year’s race will include a one mile extension that will challenge even the best runners. Bring your buddies and family to watch as you experience a great muddy mess.”

Race applications are available at Fitness Express in Redding or Anderson, Fleet Feet in Redding, or Active.com. Participants must be 12 years of age and older by September 27, 2014 to participate.

This year’s event will include food vendors: Dutch Bros. Coffee ~ Redding, Cinders Wood Fired Pizza, Tango Taco, Hawaiian Ice, and beer from Wild Card Brewery. Obstacle sponsorships are also still available.
