Marijuana Cultivation Arrests at Little Cow Creek

On 7/18/14, Agents with the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Investigative Team, Shasta Interagency Narcotic Task Force and Fish and Wildlife entered multiple marijuana cultivation sites near Little Cow Creek, east of Bella Vista, CA. The cultivation sites were determined to be connected by a trail system and water pipes. The sites were found to be on both private and Bureau of Land Management Lands.

During entry into the marijuana cultivation sites, Agents encountered two Hispanic Male adults working within the sites. Verbal announcements were given to the two subjects, but they immediately fled on foot from Agents. K-9 “Phebe” was deployed and was able to apprehend one of the males, later identified as Gregorio Farias. The second male was able to avoid apprehension.

A total of 2,155 growing marijuana plants were eradicated with the assistance from CAMP personnel.

Farias was transported to Shasta Medical Center and medically cleared before being booked into the Shasta County Jail on the listed charges.
