Candidates are required to submit final paperwork, including candidacy nomination signatures, between July 14 and August 8, according to City Clerk Pamela Mize. The City Clerk position and three Council seats will be filled in the November General Election, each for a four-year term. If any incumbent chooses not to run, the filing deadline for that particular office is extended to August 13 for non-incumbent candidates.
Candidates are asked to contact the City Clerk’s Office at 225-4044 to schedule an appointment to receive an orientation on the candidacy paperwork and filing requirements. “Drop-in” candidates will be asked to make an appointment to receive the orientation. In addition to the forms required to be filed, candidates also will receive a package of information containing guidelines about running for office.
For more information or questions, please contact City Clerk Pamela Mize at 225-4044.
