One of Shasta’s Most Wanted arrested in Burney

 

On 07/03/2014, at approximately 06:55 P.M., a Shasta County Sheriff’s Office deputy from the Burney Station observed a reckless driver in the area of State Highway 299 and Mountain View Road. The deputy attempted a traffic stop, and the driver initially failed to yield. The lights and siren of the patrol vehicle were activated, and the vehicle yielded shortly after. The driver was found to be Shane Elvis Maynard, who had four active felony warrants for his arrest. Maynard was taken into custody without incident.  Maynard was recently featured on Shasta’s Most  Wanted. During a search of the vehicle narcotics  and  narcotics  paraphernalia  were  located.  Also  located  was  an  empty  magazine  to  a handgun. Maynard was booked into the Shasta County Jail with a total bail amount of $410,000.00.

During the stop, deputies also contacted passenger April Collins DOB-03/14/82. Collins was arrested for four outstanding felony warrants. Collins was booked into the Shasta County Jail with a total bail of $760,000.
