On 6/25/2014, Agents with the Shasta County Sheriff’s Marijuana Investigative Team and Fish and Wildlife entered a private piece of property located in a rural area near Bella Vista on a report of trespassing and marijuana cultivation.
The suspects include
Lopez, Felix Guerra Lopez, 57, of Chandler, Arizona, and Sestos Arieso Apareso, 41, of HMA, Corning.
Lopez and Apareso were found caring for two marijuana cultivation sites. Evidence supported illegal marijuana cultivation. Lopez was found to be residing in Chandler Arizona and Apareso was found to be in the United States on a work visa.
A total of 203 marijuana plants were eradicated and both subjects were booked into the Shasta County Jail for illegal trespassing, illegal cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale and conspiracy.
Later that day, agents contacted Pedro Sanchez off Bland Road in Ono, regarding a possible illegal marijuana cultivation site. During contact, a 9mm semi-auto handgun was found at the cultivation site. Pedro, 35, is from Sunnyvale.
Sanchez was found to be an ex-felon and currently on felony for probation for marijuana cultivation out of Santa Clara County. Sanchez was arrested for being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm.
Sanchez was also found to be violating the Shasta County Marijuana Ordinance. Agents eradicated and destroyed 99 marijuana plants that Sanchez was caring for.
Agents along with personnel from Shasta County Planning conducted marijuana investigations at five different properties; four within the Trinity Alps Preserve and one off of Dry Creek Road. Agents could not find any Health and Safety code violations but found the growing operations were in violation of the Shasta County Marijuana Ordinance. A total of 566 marijuana plants were eradicated and destroyed from the five sites.
