First Christian Church, 3590 Placer Street, Redding will be holding a drive-thru collection of new (nothing outdated please), travel or regular size personal hygiene items on Saturday, May 31st from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. The items collected will be distributed at Project Homeless CONNECT.
Project Homeless CONNECT is an annual event in Redding offering free, on-site services and referrals for our neighbors experiencing or at-risk of homelessness. Some of the services available at this one-day, one-stop resource event are medical exams, dental screenings, vision care, hot meals, bike repairs, haircuts, pet care, Veteran services, Medi-Cal, Food Stamps, assistance with ID and SSI/SSDI and lots more!
First Christian Church collects lots of donations throughout the year from our very loving, generous congregation but the past two years we have run out within the first couple hours. Please help us help our neighbors in need by meeting our goal of collecting 1,000 new items of each of the following:
- Toothpaste
- Toothbrushes
- Dental Floss
- Shampoo
- Conditioner
- Bar Soap
- Shower Gel
- Combs and brushes
- Razors
- Deodorant
- Lotion
- Sunscreen
- Hand sanitizer
- Mosquito repellent
- Feminine Pads and tampons
- Underwear
- Socks
- Wash clothes
- Emery boards
- Nail clippers
