Open House-‘Baby Shower’ For Orphaned Baby Wildlife

ANDERSON – Shasta Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation (SWRR) organization announces it will host its annual Baby Shower and Open House from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at the wildlife center in Anderson River Park.

The event includes special tours of the facility only conducted at this time of year, prior to the big influx of baby animals rescued during the coming season.

Guests can get up close and personal with SWRR’s Educational animals and can visit a display table. Children’s activities include a station to build their own little birdfeeder to take home and an animal face painter station. The first 75 children to visit will receive baby shower favors.

SWRR will host the event concurrent with the Anderson Parks and Recreation Department’s Family Fun Fest and Kids Fishing Day at the park. This event takes place at the K.C. Grove in Anderson River Park from 9 am to 2 pm.

Admission to the Baby Shower and Open House is free. Guests are welcome to bring a baby shower gift to help SWRR care for the needs of animals and defray the cost of running the center. Monetary donations and needed items benefit the Shasta Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation organization’s  mission to the rescue, rehabilitate and release sick, orphaned and injured wildlife in Northern California. SWRR hosts programs and events to educate and encourage its community to value the connection between people and the natural environment.
