March 5 Deadline: Vote for Redding Teen Olympic Hopeful to Grace USA Weightlifting Magazine Cover

Nineteen-year-old Hailee Lollar of Redding has already proven she’s got what it takes to be a champion.

Just a month ago at the 2014 National Junior Weightlifting Championships in Colorado, Hailee took the gold in her weight class beating out 20 other young women between the ages of 15 and 20.

Now she has a chance to experience a little more of that limelight. With enough votes, Hailee can make it to the front cover of “USA Weightlifting Magazine”.

To vote, go to http://www.teamusa.org/USA-Weightlifting/Media/E-Magazine/Magazine-Cover-Photo-Contest and scroll down – three images down – to the picture of Hailee and the blue voting box below her photo.

Click on the little circle next to Hailee’s name, then click “VOTE FOR HAILEE”  button. Time is of the essence as voting ends March 5.

Lollar, a 19-year-old Shasta College student, plans to transfer to a four-year university. She balances her studies with daily four-hour trainings.

Hailee was invited to train at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs where she’s spent the last two years during her winter and summer breaks from school to hone her skills under the guidance of Polish Coach Zigmunt Smalcerz, champion at the 1972 Olympics.

When she’s at home in Redding, Hailee continues her training with Redding Barbell and CrossFit Club owner Bryan Schenone.

This June, Hailee is heading to St. Petersburg, Russia to represent the U.S. at the Junior World Weightlifting Championships. Hailee has her long-term sights set on making the US Olympic Team in 2020 and competing in Tokyo.
