Theater comes to the Cottonwood Performing Arts Center 7 p.m. Sat., Feb. 15, directed by Ken Levens.
Mrs. Shakespeare is in Cottonwood to defend her husband’s good name, having been teleported 400 years into the future through the magic of theater.
Her adversary is a contemporary Shakespearean scholar who questions the bard’s legendary authorship.
In 90 minutes the unlikely pair covers topics as diverse as James Bond, “Gilligan’s Island”, “The Godfather”, “Star Wars”, and several musicals. The play, “As You Wish “is a comedy.
It doesn’t start out that way because Mrs. Shakespeare doesn’t want the ‘American Guy’ there, but she changes her mind as she gets to know him.
This event is a fund raiser for the Cottonwood Performing Arts Center. that offers instructional classes in music, art, dance, and theatre, and provides the Cottonwood community and surrounding area with concerts and live entertainment.
Cottonwood P. A. C. is dedicated to the education and preservation of the fine arts.
C.P.A.C. will soon be a nonprofit 501(c)(3). It asks for the public to consider supporting the community fine arts with donations in any amount.
