Shasta Land Trust’s annual Wildways Kickoff party is just around the corner on Saturday, February 22, from 6-10 p.m. at the Redding Senior Citizen’s Hall. The event features local beef sliders, local wines and beer, a silent auction and raffle, and music by local jazz band Indigo Brew.
Everyone will find something to enjoy at our biggest event of the year. Take a look at the dozens of handmade woodcraft items, paintings, photographs, and other items available in the silent auction. And don’t forget to grab raffle tickets for a chance to win one of several great gift basket prizes. All auction and raffle items are donated so the proceeds directly support Shasta Land Trust.
Of course, the highlight of the Kickoff Party is the first opportunity to purchase tickets to other exclusive Wildways events. These events range from guided hikes across private ranches to food and wine parties to a bike ride on the Great Shasta Rail Trail. The most popular Wildways events often sell out during the Kickoff party, so you need to be present to make sure you claim your spot.
This year, Shasta Land Trust is literally “Blazing New Trails” with our work on the Great Shasta Rail Trail. We are also blazing new trails toward a legacy of beautiful open spaces and rural character in Shasta County by working with local landowners to help them protect the places they love. So far Shasta Land Trust has permanently protected more than 20,000 acres of land on 10 different properties across the county.
Tickets for the Wildways Kickoff Party cost $30 and may be purchased by calling Shasta Land Trust at (530) 241-7886, visiting the Shasta Land Trust website at http://www.shastalandtrust.org, or stopping by the office at 1918 West Street in Redding during business hours. Tickets will also be available for $35 the night of the Kickoff at the Redding Senior Citizen’s Hall, 2290 Benton Drive.
