Join the party 6 p.m. Thursday night at the Cascade Theatre for a celebration of all the ways that biking transforms our lives and our community for the better. The evening will feature Reveal The Path, a visually stunning adventure documentary that takes viewers on a 36-day vagabond bike trip to some of the world’s most visually stunning destinations. This adventure will leave you with an eager desire to chart your own course to faraway lands, or even better, to discover with eyes wide open what is around the next bend – right here in the beautiful North State.
Tickets cost $15 in advance, or $20 day of event. They may be purchased online at cascadetheatre.org
The show starts at 7:30, but the evening begins with a reception at 6 p.m. where you can meet inspiring people from across the community, and learn about events and activities of local groups and businesses. There will be a slide show with highlights of local biking community programs and activities, past and present. ~ For instance, did you know there were bike builders in Redding in 1880?
Prior to the movie there will be a short program where you will hear from local leaders who will each speak briefly from their own perspectives about how bicycling in Redding and the North State is supporting business, economic development and community well-being. Speakers include: Francie Sullivan, Redding City Councilwoman; Mark Lascelles, President of the Economic Development Corporation of Shasta County, ‘Community lifestyle as a key piece of economic infrastructure’; Ed Rullman, Partner and General Manager, Best Western Plus Hilltop Inn, C.R. Gibbs American Grille, and Robert Paoletti, Redding Chief of Police.
Proceeds from the raffle will support improvements to biking in our community and will go to Shasta Living Streets, and the Redding City Police Department’s Explorer Program in a genuine show of support for the officers who work daily to help keep bicyclists safe on the roads. Raffle tickets will give you a chance to win all sorts of cool prizes donated by local businesses, and also a beautiful new bike from PUBLIC Bikes!
