On Thursday July 26, 2012, at 8:49 am, Officers responded to 777 Cypress Ave., Redding Ca. (City Hall) in regards to a male adult subject making terrorist threats to employees.
Upon arrival, officers determined that the suspect (Maxwellstaley, Christopher, 35 years old of Redding) had left City Hall on foot after providing a note to an employee at the City Clerks Office indicating that if all employees did not clear the building he would be back there to commit a public execution on this date at 6:00 pm.
A search of the area was completed and officers discovered Maxwellstaley on Parkview Ave. near State St. Upon contacting Maxwellstaley he became uncooperative and physically resisted arrest. During the arrest process, Maxwellstaley kicked an officer. The officer sustained a minor injury. Maxwellstaley was arrested for terrorist threats, resisting arrest, battery on a peace officer, and threatening a public officer. Maxwellstaley was booked at the Shasta County Jail on a $100,000 bail.
