St. Elizabeth Community Hospital is proud to announce Donna Holscher, MD as the 2011 recipient of the Values in Action Physician of the Year Award, the highest honor in the Catholic Healthcare West system. This award brings special distinction as the selection is based on nominations from employees, board members, fellow physicians, volunteers and Sisters of Mercy. Based on these nominations, a selection committee chooses a physician who exemplifies the values of the organization, is active in leadership and who exhibits excellent clinical knowledge and skills.
Dr. Holscher was presented the honor at the annual St. Elizabeth Community Hospital Employee, Physician and Volunteer Christmas Dinner earlier this month. Dr. Holscher graduated from UC Irvine and was board certified in 1987. She has been a family practice physician with Lassen Medical Group of Cottonwood for the last 8 years. She and her husband are raising their three sons and enjoy supporting their various educational and sporting events including soccer. Dr. Holscher is fluent in Spanish and has provided medical services to Mexico, Nicaragua, The Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica. Comments from the nominations include;
