Simpson Hosts Annual Craft & Fair Trade Bazaar

Just in time for the holiday shopping season, Simpson University will host its 5th annual Craft & Fair Trade Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 19. The free community event will take place in Simpson’s Heritage Student Life Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The craft fair provides an outlet for area artisans and crafters to sell their items and includes Fair Trade items available to purchase. Local crafters will feature handmade cards, crocheted scarves, jewelry and other items. Fairly traded items from around the world include coffee, home décor and handbags.

Fair Trade guarantees producers and artisans in poor countries fair payment for the purchase of their goods. Its goal is to foster local development and improve producers’ living conditions. Fair Trade contributes to sustainable development.

The craft fair raises funds to support the student missions program and the student scholarship fund at Simpson University.
