A Day of Literacy & Play at the Redding Library

The Redding Library and KIXE join forces for the 4th Annual “A Day of Literacy & Play!” to celebrate National Family Literacy Day. This event combines fun with information about habits that promote literacy skills and healthy lifestyles.

Activities include face painting, crafts, games and our signature Book Walk. Tote bags and children’s books will be available while supplies last. Healthy snacks and a workshop about healthy family lifestyles round out the event.

Don’t miss exciting special presentations throughout the day, including Turtle Bay’s live animals, local author and storyteller extraordinaire, Linda Boyden and a visit by some familiar KIXE characters! The day wraps up with a screened reading of a Dr. Seuss Classic, provided by KIXE.

“A Day of Literacy & Play” will be held at the Redding Library on Saturday, October 29th from 10am – 1pm. This free event is for families with children aged 0-8. This event was made possible by a generous grant from First 5 Shasta. For information call (530) 245-7259 or visit www.shastalibraries.org.
