
Anthony Nicholas Dispensa
On September 29, 2011 at approximately 8:30 PM, Redding Police responded to the Raley’s Market on Lake Boulevard for an armed robbery. The victim, 18 years of Redding, told police that he was robbed of his wallet while in the parking lot of the market. The victim stated that the suspect pointed a handgun at him and demanded his wallet.
On September 29, 2011 at approximately 9:30 PM, Redding Police responded for a second armed robbery in the area of Lake Boulevard and St. Nicholas Street. That victim, 26 years of Redding, reported to police that he was approached by a similar suspect that pointed a handgun at him and demanded that the victim give the suspect his bag of fast food that he had just purchased.
On September 30, 2011 patrol officers continued the investigation into these robberies and learned that first victim’s credit card had been used at a local TowerMart a short time after the robberies. Patrol officers were able to identify the suspect from video surveillance of the transaction at the TowerMart. Patrol officers supplied this information to the Redding Police Department Investigations Division for follow up.
Within a few hours, investigators from the Redding Police Department located Anthony Nicholas Dispensa, 26 years of Redding, at the 500 block of Buckeye Terrace in Redding. Dispensa is a documented gang member and was found in possession of a replica firearm that matched the description of the handgun involved in both robberies.
Dispensa ultimately confessed to both armed robberies. Nicholas Anthony Dispensa was arrested and booked at Shasta County Jail for two counts of armed robbery.
