Adieu to Ballet Grads, Hello New: RCB’s Fall Registration Begins

What: Redding City Ballet Fall Classes
When: Registration begins Monday (Aug. 1); Auditions for the Nutcracker will be Sept. 9 and 10
Where: Redding City Ballet, 1726 Market Street

Students at Redding City Ballet come and go, but the friendships, education and dance connections made in the dance studio continue to grow and will last forever thanks to the Internet and Facebook. Redding City Ballet is proud of the dancers that are going on to great things this coming season, but we are sad they won’t be in classes with us every day. However, this is the nature of a dance company, and while one door closes, another opens for new dancers to take center stage. So keep a look-out for the studio’s up and coming dancers and don’t miss Redding’s best! They’re excited to grab the spotlight and we are excited for them.

Congratulations go out to: Christine Nankervis for her trainee position with Los Angeles Ballet; Daniel Arizmendi’s position with Dancing Earth in San Francisco; Elizabeth Mu for acceptance to the UC Irvine Dance Department; Bobby Hansen for his performances this year with Princeton University Ballet; and to Emily Lichlyter who graduated this past June with her degree in Dance from the University of California Santa Barbara.

Redding City Ballet and Redding Ballet Academie have big plans this year and want you to be a part of them. Become a friend and “Like” us on Facebook for up-to-date information on our new The Dancer’s Workshop Project that precedes the 2nd Saturday ArtHop performances.

It is important for dancers to be exposed to all aspects of a dance performance, either as a dancer or a creator. This year the students of Redding Ballet Academie will be featured in ArtHop performances and allowed to present classical and contemporary variations chosen for them by the directors of the company. Several students who show an aptitude for choreography will also be given the opportunity to feature some of their own beginning works in this creative process.

So, dancers, grab your tights and shoes and make your way to the studio.

Registration for Fall Classes Opens August 1

Pre-registration helps us determine class placement for students. Class size for age 3 years to 10 years will be limited. This ensures the best possible education and advancement of each student participating.

Contact: info@reddingcityballet.org for a registration form or download the PDF from www.reddingcityballet.org.

There are big plans this year for performance opportunities and for the end-of-the-year recital performance. You don’t want to miss it.
