Public Health Tdap Clinics Open By Appointment

What: Tdap Booster Shots
When: By appointment
Where: Shasta County Public Health, 2650 Breslauer Way, Redding, CA 96001

Students entering 7th through 12th grade this fall who have not yet had a Tdap booster shot may receive the shot at Public Health’s upcoming appointment-only clinics.

AB354 is a new law requiring all students entering 7th through 12th grade to have this booster shot before school enrollment in fall of 2011.

To help parents comply with this requirement, Shasta County Public Health is offering clinics specifically for students in this age group from the first week of July through the second week of September at Public Health, 2650 Breslauer Way in Redding. Appointments are required. To schedule an appointment, call (530) 225-5591.

Parents should check their children’s yellow Immunization Record or ask their medical provider whether their child has already received the correct vaccine (Tdap, Boostrix or Adacel). If it reads DTaP, DT or Td, it does NOT meet the requirement and the child WILL need a Tdap vaccination.

Other options to receive the shot for your child include scheduling an appointment with your health care provider or receiving it at a local pharmacy.

For more information on Tdap or other immunization information, you may call (530) 225-5591, or visit www.shastahhsa.net.
