LOCATION: Hwy 89 near Black Angus Lane, Hat Creek
SUSPECT: Bautista, Steven Arthur IMA DOB- 06/01/82
VICTIM: Confidential – WFA
SYNOPSIS: On Thursday, June 16, 2011 at approximately 0630 hours, Burney Deputies responded to a call of an assault victim at the above location. Upon arrival, deputies learned that the victim in this case had been assaulted by her boyfriend, Steven Bautista. The victim stated that during the assault Bautista had choked her to the point where she passed out. She was also kicked in the ribs over ten times and slapped several times in the face. As the Victim attempted to escape, Bautista tried to run her over two to three times before a truck driver came to her rescue.
The victim was treated on scene for her injuries and released. Steven Bautista fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle which has been recovered. Steven Bautista should be considered armed and dangerous as the victim related that he is in possession of a stolen rifle that had been taken during recent thefts in the Burney area. Again, we are asking for the publics help in locating Steven Bautista and seeking any information into the recent thefts in the Burney area.
