SYNOPSIS: On 05/29/2011, at 2319 hrs (11:19 p.m.), the Shasta County Sheriff’s Boating Safety Unit received a call regarding a boating accident on Shasta Lake. The accident site was located in Allie Cove on the Pit River Arm of Shasta Lake.
During the investigation it was found that Corey Lee Lewis of Redding, CA was driving a boat above the legal speed limit at night and crashed into the south shoreline of Allie Cove, injuring one of his two passengers.
Lewis was arrested at the scene on suspicion of BUI and booked into the Shasta County Jail. While one of the passengers was transported to a local hospital and treated for his injuries, the other passenger was transported to shore and given a ride home by friends.
