Don’t miss one of the most innovative and exciting shows of this year’s Cascade Theatre/JPR Performance Series as The Aluminum Show comes to the stage of Redding’s historic Cascade Theatre on Saturday, March 5th at 7:30pm.

The Aluminum Show is a stimulating tour de force which combines movement, dance, visual theater and plenty of humor. After its 2003 debut in Jerusalem at the Israel Festival, the show gained worldwide recognition and for years has mesmerized hundreds of thousands of people across the globe.

In the show, talented dancers and actors breathe life into aluminum-tone industrial materials to tell the story of a young machine determined to reunite with its parents. During its travels through a futuristic world ruled by bizarre technology, it finds adventure, excitement and even a human friend, who does whatever it takes to get it back home in one piece.

The Aluminum Show uses recovered materials from industrial factories that are re-used to build the set, dress the cast and interact with the audience. As industrial materials are given new and surprising contexts, then combined with visual effects, lighting manipulations and enchanting music, all senses are on high alert. With sights and sounds that overcome any language barrier, this is visual entertainment at its best.

The Aluminum Show is the brain-child of Ilan Azriel, who, after years of dancing in the Inbal Dance Theater in Tel Aviv and in the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company, decided to establish a group where he could combine dance, unique choreography and puppetry. In 1997, Mr. Azriel independently established his own group, and the magic he brought forth when operating and giving life to puppets, masks and objects won him worldwide critical acclaim. His talent led him around the world, where he represented his native country of Israel at international fairs in Berlin, Moscow and Las Vegas.

Wordless, but accompanied by an original soundtrack, The Aluminum Show is a magical spectacle for all ages.
