On January 18th, 2011 at approximately 12:18 AM, Redding Police officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the 600 block of Monardas Drive. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, a 39 year old female, suffering from multiple lacerations to her face and head. She was transported by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center.
The investigation revealed that Kao Nyan SAETURN, 30 years, got into an argument with the victim, his live-in girlfriend. During the argument, he punched the victim in the face and cut her several times with a kitchen knife. SAETURN fled in a vehicle before officers arrived. The weapon was recovered.
Approximately an hour later, Shasta County Sheriff Deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in a field off of Deschutes Road in Palo Cedro. Deputies located SAETURN near the vehicle that was stuck in the mud. Redding Police officers responded to Palo Cedro and arrested SAETURN on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and felony domestic violence. He was booked into the Shasta County Jail.
The victim’s injuries are not life threatening.
