‘Get Outta Town’ for Early Holiday Cheer

Readers of last year’s A News Cafe column, “Dish Rag,” were subjected to my rants and raves about Thanksgiving, the forgotten holiday. I lamented all of the Christmas decorations, music, and especially the retail frenzy that totally overshadows the ultimate food-lover’s holiday.

This year, I’m taking a bit of an “if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em” position. I draw the line at rising at 5 a.m. to wait in line for discount electronics, but a good old fashioned holiday arts and crafts fair never hurt anyone. So enjoy the weekend, take a drive and venture to a few of these “Get Outta Town” early holiday picks.

I’m sure I missed a few.  So, give us your favorite holiday arts and craft fairs going on this weekend and stay tuned for a few more weeks of “Get Outta Town” holiday happenings.
