The Redding Mountain Biking Club, in association with Redding’s Bureau Of Land Management, is hosting the fourth annual Take A Kid Mountain Biking Day on Sunday, October 3rd at the Swasey Recreation Area. Registration for this free event will begin at 9 a.m. with ride groups departing regularly until 9:45. There will be routes for all skill levels including those who’ve recently had their training wheels removed. Bicycle mechanics will be available, however, all participants are advised to pre-check their bikes prior to arrival. Safety is always a priority, so please remember to bring your helmet along with your bike and make sure to wear comfortable shoes – no sandals or flip flops.
This event is an opportunity for adults to share the joy of a simple bike ride with a younger loved one. It also showcases the magnificent Swasey Recreation Area located on Swasey Drive, approximately halfway between Highway 299 and Placer Street. A barbecue grill will be provided after the event, so bring a hot dog or hamburger, if possible. We hope to see you on Sunday, October 3rd for the fourth annual Take A Kid Mountain Biking day!
