What: Megan Slankard & Jeff Campbell at Vintage Wine Bar and Restaurant

When: Jul 31, 8 p.m.

Where: Vintage Wine Bar and Restaurant

Though just 25 years old, Megan Slankard has independently sold over 22,000 CDs while performing in 100s of cities across the United States and Europe. She self-produced her first CD at age 18, and is currently hard at work finishing up her fourth CD with help from David Bryson (Counting Crows) and Jerry Becker (Pat Monahan). The new release is an edgy alt-rock record, brimming with stories told from unique perspectives, and is scheduled to be released early 2010.

Megan and her music have appeared on TLC’s What Not To Wear, which generated purchases by TV viewers that placed her CD Freaky Little Story on the #5 spot on Amazon.com CD sales charts and on the Top-10 Rock Bestseller list on CDBaby.com. Because of the episode’s popularity, the show’s producers featured her in a follow-up episode a year later, bringing Freaky Little Story and her third release, A Little Extra Sun back into the Top-10.

Jeff Campbell: This young singer-songwriter was brought up in a musical family with constant exposure to artists and performers from the last six decades. These artists have influenced a songwriting style, a mix of raw rock and winding lyrical melodies, which continues to evolve within him through the years.
