Candidates for the November 2, 2010, Redding City Council and City Clerk elections have at least two more weeks to return final paperwork to secure a spot on the ballot.
Forms are due by August 6. However, if any incumbent elects not to run, the filing deadline will be extended by law to August 11 for non-incumbent candidates, according to City Clerk Pamela Mize.
To speed the process, candidates are asked to contact the City Clerk’s Office at 225-4055 to schedule an appointment to return paperwork. Those filing paperwork will receive a package of information from the City Manager’s Office that provides background on the workings of the City and role of a City Council Member.
