The Redding City Musical Theatre Company fundraiser “Broadway on the Green” takes place at 7 p.m. today (Saturday) at the Redding Convention Center Amphitheater.

RCMTC director Diana Christensen was passing out fliers at Thursday’s MarketFest to help get the word out. In addition to performances by company members, there will be food vendors (starting at 6 p.m.) including Furnari’s Sausages, TJ’s Gourmet Hot Dogs and Sweet Spot.

The under-utilized (but excellent) amphitheater is located on the north side of the convention center (700 Auditorium Drive), just past the Sundial Bridge entrance on the right. There is parking directly across from the amphitheater and also at the bridge.

The non-profit company has been producing shows at the Cascade Theatre since 2005 and it also includes and student company. For more information on RCMTC, click here.

Attendees are asked to bring blankets or lawn chairs to sit on the lawn. Tickets are $10 at the gate and proceeds benefit the company’s upcoming season, as well as scholarships for kids to attend the company’s summer performing arts camps.
