Happy New Year!

Best wishes for 2010 from the Corner Booth. Hope you all managed to stay safe and dry last night, and that your hangovers magically disappear like the bubbles in champagne.

We’ll start the new year with more of the rain and mist that have dampened Northern California for the past few days. Looks like a good day to stay indoors, watching bowl games and eating leftovers.

The storm system is scheduled to move out of the area on Saturday, leaving us with several days of dry weather. For complete forecast info, click on our Redding Weather Now logo to the left.

  • Tickets are on sale now for the Feb. 1 State of the City Luncheon at the Redding Convention Center. Tickets are $30 each for individual balcony seats or $300 for tables for eight on the main floor. For reservations or more info, call the Greater Redding Chamber of Commerce at 225-4433, ext. 100.
  • Overheard at Our House: According to our 17-year-old son, food that has been reheated in the microwave is “nukewarm.”
  • Rules for Successful Living #6: Never give in to the temptation to goose a nun.
