Artist, furniture maker and chef, Dan Ferrarese will treat 2nd Saturday ArtHop guests to Croqembouche, a special event or festive cake made with Bavarian cream, ganache, puff pastries and spun sugar, often used at weddings and holidays. Dan’s version will have spun sugar applied as a “cage” surrounding the puffs. The sugar cage has to be “broken into or through” signifying a “break into” the start of the holidays.
The special holiday ArtHop event will also feature collaborative metal and glass work by Dan Ferrarese and Jan Scanlin, jewelry by Greg Mann, and hammered dulcimer and guitar music by Jan and John Scanlin with holiday vocals by Greg Mann.
Sample Dan’s culinary creation during 2nd Saturday ArtHop, Sat., Dec. 12 at GMS Mann Custom Jewelers, 5200 Churn Creek Road, Churn Creek Plaza, Redding. Click here for ArtHop maps and information.
