Wintry Blast Hits North State

Cold temperatures and the chance of rain or snow should make for a blustery weekend in Northern California, with below-freezing temps expected in some areas of the valley.

Redding could see light snow on Sunday as the temperatures drop, and it’ll be heavier in the mountains, though this storm doesn’t seem to have a lot of moisture in it.

We’ve got a great new weather page here at anewscafe.com. Just click on the box on the upper left of the home page.

  • You can be an “angel” this Christmas season and help a needy child. The Angel Tree is covered with paper angels that have information about children’s wish list, sizes, etc. Take one and deliver the gift(s) to the Salvation Army for delivery. For more info, call 222-2207.
  • An Alert Reader sends us the link for an article about syphillis that includes this paragraph: “While San Francisco health officials couldn’t explain the slight decline, they said the city has stepped up efforts to promote syphilis awareness among the public and health providers, particularly dentists and hygienists. This includes the Healthy Penis campaign, complete with appearances this year of the 6-foot-tall costumed penis at fairs, parades and public events and his buddy, Phil the Syphilis Sore.”
