  • Local band Manzanita plays from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Post Office Saloon in downtown Redding. Wednesday is also Spaghetti Night at the Post Office. Or, you could hit Hamburger Night at Maritime Seafood & Grill, then stroll over to the Post Office for after-dinner drinks and music.
  • NFL: Bad weekend for Northern California as the 49ers fall 45-10 to Atlanta and the hapless Raiders lose to the NY Giants, 44-7. Who would’ve ever thought that Jim Dyar’s Denver Broncos would be 5-0? With Kyle Orton at QB? The other 5-0 teams: Colts, Giants, Vikings. The SAINTS are at 4-0 and resting on a bye week. The Niners get a bye next week. Looks like they could use it.
