Pets Looking for Homes

Pets Without Partners display adorable, adoptable pets TODAY at PetSmart, across Hilltop from the Mount Shasta Mall in Redding.

The group brings pets who need homes to the PetSmart store most Saturdays, and shows them there from 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

Pets Without Partners specializes in smaller dogs, and helped a total of 532 dogs find homes in 2008. To read more about the Redding nonprofit, click here.

  • Mark Your Calendars for next Wednesday, Aug. 26, when there’ll be a kickoff celebration for a new community garden built for senior citizens. The wheelchair-accessible garden at Mountain Vistas Senior Apartments at the corner of Peppertree and Hilltop was made possible by business donations and foundation grants. The celebration begins at 10 a.m.
  • DVD I Saw on the Dreadmill: “Humboldt County,” a warm-hearted comedy that reminded me of the old TV series “Northern Exposure.” An uptight medical student finds himself amongst the marijuana growers in Humboldt, and his life is changed. Not hilarious, but interesting and fun.
  • I saw a TV commercial for some restaurant offering boneless wings, and all I could think of were those poor flightless chickens flopping around.
