Wild Bill and the Mud Whompers perform from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday (July 17) at Shasta Lake’s Friday Night in the Park event at Clair Engle Park (Near Sentry Market).
Led by the always fun and talented Bill Woods, this has long been one of my favorite acts in the north state. The group used to play weekly at the Red, White and Brew, and now they typically play every other Tuesday night at the nearby Uncorked Wine Bar (generally behind Bleachers, former Chuck E Cheese) off Hilltop Drive.
Woods’ ensemble plays an excellent blend of bluegrass/newgrass and folk tunes. You get the feeling they love the music they’re sinking into.
