What: Shasta County Jr. Livestock Auction
When: Buyers registration 8 a.m. Sat., June 20
Where: Shasta District Fairgrounds
Details: The Shasta County Jr. Livestock Auction gives the community an opportunity for businesses and individuals to help support north state youth and their affiliated 4-H and FFA programs.
Options:
•Buyers can bid on and purchase livestock with the intention to butcher and keep the meat for themselves.
•Bidders can bid on and purchase livestock, but then donate the meat back to 4-H and FFA. In this case, the contribution benefits these programs as the meat is served on July 3 at the annual 4-H and FFA barbecue at Anderson Explodes, an all-you-can eat BBQ for $10. (Tickets can be purchased from local 4-H and FFA members.)
• Companies or individuals may bid on and purchase an animal alone, or they can team up with other businesses to share in the cost.
