Corner Booth: OMG

Maybe I’ve gone blind, but I’ve gone through the sports section of the local newspaper four times now and the only reference I can find to today’s playoff game between the Boston Celtics and the Chicago Bulls is in the NBA agate on the “Scoreboard” page and it consists of the following: “Saturday, May 2, Chicago at Boston, 5 p.m.”

The game isn’t even mentioned in the “On the Air” section for those of us who might want to watch it on TV. (TNT, 5 p.m. Redding time)

This is the seventh game in a seven-game series. Four of the previous six games have been decided in overtime. No team had previously played four overtimes in an entire playoff series, and these two have played that many in the first round.

The Celtics are decimated by injuries, but they’ve got home court advantage. Paul Pierce plays big in big games. Rajon Rondo is from another planet. Derrick Rose is Rookie of the Year. Tempers flared in the last game.

It’s going to be epic.

You can read all about it in your newspaper. Tomorrow. Probably.

UPDATE: Boston wins, 109-99. Go Celtics!
