What a game! The Pittsburgh Steelers’ last-second victory over the Arizona Cardinals was one of the best Super Bowls ever, especially for us Steeler fans. Lots of drama, lots of exciting action.
When Arizona’s splendid receiver Larry Fitzgerald took off on that 64-yard touchdown catch that gave the Cardinals the lead with only two minutes left, I thought we’d have to break out the defibrillator paddles for my thumping heart.
Then the Steelers took over again, and marched 78 yards, largely on the strength of receiver Santonio Holmes, who caught four Ben Roethlisberger passes on the drive, including his graceful tiptoe catch in the end zone. Wow.
Only one downside to the Steeler victory: The 27-23 win didn’t beat the point spread. So, even though my team won, I lost my bet with Phil Fountain and now must draw a cartoon for A News Café. Soon as I can find my artist pen. I’m sure it’s around here somewhere…
