Performing Arts Classes

The recently formed Westside Performing Arts Company kicks off a number of performance classes starting next week. The company will present classes in beginning, intermediate and TV/film acting, voice, script writing, music fundamentals, dance and more.

A registration day will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday (Jan. 9) at 1666 E. Cypress Ave. in Redding. Call 515-7151.

The one-hour classes will run twice a week for 12 weeks. Cost is $180 for a single class (24 one-hour sessions), or a discounted rate is available for additional classes.

The classes are designed for children 8 and above, teens and adults. As I mentioned in a previous post, the Westside group includes talented performer/instructors like Trish Spinner, Dean Williams and Bill Collins. I attended a party recently where many members of the Westside group were singing, playing music and clowning around. Talk about a talented group.

If you’ve wanted to become more active in performance, these classes would be a good kick start.
