Do you know someone or some family in dire need of a granted wish?
Help could be on the way.
This holiday season marks the fourth year that Umpqua Bank, in partnership with KLXR AM 1230, will host Wish Upon a Star, a program that grants wishes to the most needy in the Redding and Red Bluff areas. Umpqua Bank has delivered more than $185,000 worth of wishes since
the program began granting wishes as a way to help needy people throughout California and Oregon.
“As a community bank we have an obligation to help our communities,” said Ray Davis, president and CEO of Umpqua Bank.
Since its inception, Umpqua Bank’s Wish Upon a Star program has selected and fulfilled more than 270 holiday wishes. Past wishes include paying for pediatric medical travel costs, replacing a single father’s failing appliances, and providing heat through the winter to a family struggling with unemployment and medical bills.
Nominate a Holiday Wish
Dec. 12 is the deadline to nominate someone as a Wish Upon a Star candidate. Nominations should explain why the nominee deserves to have a holiday wish granted. Nominations should also include contact information, including daytime phone numbers for both the wish nominator and the wish nominee.
Nomination submissions should be mailed to: Wish Upon a Star KLXR, 1326 Market Street, Redding, CA 96001. Nominations may also be submitted via email at umpquawish@yahoo.com, or faxed to 530-244-5698.
