The Tokens (wim-oh-wey) Ticket Give-Away

Here’s the reason I love this job today – actually make that 10 reasons:
Reasons 1 and 2: Dave Christensen and Ron Goniwicha, great guys, and valued advertisers on A News Cafe.  I recently had the pleasure of joining them for lunch to discuss their Best Choice Home Improvements columns about home remodeling and repairs. They also offered a treat, just for A News Cafe readers.

Eight other reasons: Dave and Ron donated concert tickets so eight lucky readers of A News Cafe could hear The Tokens – the “doo-wop” vocal group best known for  “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” – a song that remains one of the biggest hit singles ever recorded. (A little more trivia: In 1998 The Tokens made it into the Guinness Book of World Records for performing The Star-Spangled Banner at all 30 Major League Baseball stadiums in the United States and Canada. The Tokens were inducted in the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2004.

But here’s a more current date: The Tokens will perform at the Cascade Theatre at 7 p.m. on Sun., April 19.

Would you like to attend that concert? If so, send an email to me at anewscafe@gmail.com with “Tokens Tickets” in the subject line.

Please include your name, mailing address and phone number.

The first four people who email me will receive a pair of tickets valued at $20 each, which we’ll pop in the mail ASAP so you and your guest will have the tickets before the weekend.

Don’t thank me. Thank Dave and Ron.

(Here’s a YouTube video of The Tokens performing their hit song. Pay no attention to the weird writing on the video. Don’t know what that’s about.)
