I abandoned my post for a few days, but for good reason. Son Joe and his wife Marie arrived from their home in the Czech Republic. We’ve been busy showing Marie around. Thank you for all the great suggestions, some of which you’ll recognize in the photos below. We went many places.

The Sundial Bridge . . . 

And while we were in the neighborhood, we stopped by Turtle Bay Museum . . .

where Marie kidded around and took the wheel of a ‘56 pickup.

For breakfast one day we went to the Cottonwood Eatery where Marie tried biscuits and gravy for the first time. She liked the gravy. (She wasn’t so sure about the biscuits.) She remains amazed at American restaurant’s portion sizes.

While in Cottonwood Marie posed with some local statuary . . .

 And looked forward to our next stop . . .

Such as to Shasta Dam . . .

Where the we saw rusty remains uncovered by the low water levels.

Back in Igo Marie learned how to make gingerbread houses from my twin Shelly.

 

And while the weather was still nice, Joe showed Marie around Greenberg Acres . . .

 

Tomorrow’s a new day. So many places to go, and things to do. I’m off playing tour guide. But I’ll be back soon.
