Why: There are a lot of complex issues facing Northern California and our new program North State Issues Live will provide the public with access to experts working to come up with solutions to those issues.

The quarterly show will be one hour in length and hosted by longtime North State journalist, Lorraine Dechter. Dechter will be joined by a panel of experts in the chosen topic. Topics have been selected by KIXE’s Programming Department to coincide with different awareness month campaigns. The first show airing on October 13th will tackle the subject of substance abuse.

At KIXE we understand that as the community owned public television station we have a responsibility to offer programs that both reflect and potentially help the communities we serve. Our local talk show The Forum, reflects positive aspects of our community by interviewing interesting people doing interesting things across Northern California.  With North State Issues Live we hope to involve the public in comprehensive conversations about complex topics. We will bring our viewers into the conversation through social media both before and during the program and also by allowing them to call-in live to the program.
