Bidwell Mansion State Historic Park will offer tours examining the history of Women’s Suffrage in America and the ties both Annie and John Bidwell had to that effort. “Yours for Equal Justice” tours will be offered at Bidwell Mansion State Historic Park during October. A special exhibit in the Visitor Center will illustrate the many women and men who crusaded for voting and other rights for women in the 19th Century.
Signed books by Susan B. Anthony, founder and president of the National Women’s Suffrage Association, attest to Annie’s close relationship with her that lasted her lifetime. The history and intersection of the Suffrage movement with the Women’s Christian Temperance Union will also be explored.
These special tours will be available at 10:00 a.m. on Saturdays, October 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29. The cost for the tours is $6 per adult and $3 for children 5-17 years of age.
