During the week of July 17 through July 23, 2016, the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office conducted direct enforcement in numerous areas of Shasta County. High crime areas were targeted by patrol deputies which resulted in numerous arrests, citations issued, stolen vehicles recovered and stolen property recovered. The areas included in and around Win River Casino, Happy Valley, Cottonwood and stretches along Highway 273. However this “News Release” is not just about the proactivity of the deputies. This release is to thank all the citizens of Shasta County.
During this direct enforcement operation, numerous upon numerous citizens of Shasta County contacted my deputies. The citizens expressed their appreciation of our commitment to “Serve and Protect”. The handshakes, the “High Fives”, the hugs, and the comments to us about being safe as we do our job has been overwhelming. On behalf of myself, and my deputies and the Sheriff’s Office as a whole, thank you very much! The unbelievable thoughts, gestures and prayers meant a lot to us! Thank you Citizens of Shasta County.
