Dignity Health St. Elizabeth Community Hospital continues to focus on the citizens of Tehama County, offering the latest in advanced health care in a caring, committed environment. For emergencies, their Emergency Department is staffed with specially trained and board-certified doctors, nurses, and technicians who stand at the ready in case of an unexpected medical need. Now the hospital also offers ambulance service via Dignity Health Medical Transport Services. By enrolling for a low yearly membership fee, patients save thousands of dollars in out-of-pocket expenses in the event ambulance transport to the hospital is necessary. The service is available for local residents beginning in April.

A ground ambulance can cost thousands of dollars per trip. Most insurance plans cover only between 50 and 80 percent of this cost. Anything not covered must be paid by the patient. With a Dignity Health Medical Transport Services membership, patients never have out-of-pocket expenses for medically necessary ambulance transport, whether it’s to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital for an emergency or, if necessary, from St. Elizabeth to another hospital in the area.

To call the Dignity Health Medical Transport Service is as easy as calling 9-1-1. The 911 dispatchers are trained to get specific information about a particular emergency and determine the type of transportation that best fits a situation. If ground transport to the hospital is appropriate, the Service will be dispatched. There is no limit to how many times the service can be used over the course of a year.

A membership of as little as $75 per year ensures medically necessary transportation to Dignity Health St. Elizabeth Community Hospital or to another hospital. It’s the price of peace of mind in the event of a medical emergency.
