Local community members can save lives and receive a commemorative T-shirt during the Kool April Nites Blood Drive at BloodSource Redding from April 16-24, 2016. All blood drive participants will also receive MyBloodSource Rewards, redeemable online for a variety of great items. In addition, the 2nd Annual BloodSource Show and Shine will be hosted on Thursday, April 21 in the BloodSource and Ethan Allen parking lot.
Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs a blood transfusion. Blood donations helped save the life of Sydney Figone, who was diagnosed at age 21 with Stage 3 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Sydney received many pints of red cells, platelets and plasma to fight the disease. With aggressive chemotherapy and countless blood transfusions from donors, Figone finally entered remission in January 2012. As a BloodSource employee, Sydney enjoys the opportunity to thank donors for their generosity.

ELIGIBILITY: Whole blood donors must be at least 17 years old (16 with a BloodSource parental consent available online
at Bloodsource.org), weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, be in good general health and bring a photo I.D. Other donation types have specific eligibility criteria. To join Be The Match marrow registry through BloodSource, you must be between the ages of 18 – 44 years and meet health eligibility guidelines. Registering is simple and takes about 15 minutes; a consent form and a cheek swab is the first step in becoming a lifesaving marrow donor.
