The 12th Annual Anderson Century Bicycle Ride will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016. Online registration is available at centurybikeride.com or at a local bike shop.
The Anderson Century has riders from the local area and throughout California, Oregon, Nevada and Washington. Riders enjoy the 27, 40, 60, 100 or super century 125 mile rides, starting and finishing at Anderson River Park. Longer routes climb through the foothills of southeastern Shasta County and into Tehama County. The Enterprise Lions Club, Lions from Anderson and Cottonwood Clubs with Rotary of Anderson and other volunteers provide service for the riders including rest stops with snacks, drinks and lunch. All riders enjoy a meal at the park when completing the ride.
Area businesses sponsoring the ride include Tri Counties Bank, Safeway, Jim & I Aviation, Ron Mino, DDS, Donald Rhodes, OD, Bikes Etc, along with many others who donate supplies. Profits help area Lions Clubs with numerous community projects. Rider fees increase for those registering after May 14, 2016.
