Turtle Bay Exploration Park will be opening the fall exhibition, Get Animated!, on Friday, September 25 to members and guests! Get Animated!, by Stage Nine Exhibit Design out of Sacramento, will be open September 25, 2015 through January 17, 2016 and will fill, both, the Exploration Hall and Art Gallery in the Turtle Bay Museum with interactive and educational pieces for all ages.
Get Animated! explores the unique and entertaining world of animation, from the classics of traditional hand-drawn cel animation to the ever-changing and exciting world of computer animation. The exhibition features a large-scale custom Zoetrope and acts as the centerpiece for the different disciplines of animation. Guests wander through and experience unique aspects of animation features and shorts, from 2-D peg board animation to 3-D stop action claymation, model work, and CGI.
The exhibition proudly welcomes involvement from major animation studios such as the Walt Disney Family Museum, DreamWorks Animation, Sony Pictures Animation, Screen Novelties, Aardman Animations, Laika, and the Chuck Jones Estate, all whose amazing animators have brought to life some of our favorite characters from classic storybook pages.
Get Animated! is presented by Redding Kia/Subaru, supported by Best Western Plus Hilltop Inn/CR Gibbs American Grille, Kool April Nites, Pepsico, Redding Rancheria Community Fund of the Shasta Regional Community Foundation, with additional support from Senator K. Maurice & Marianne Johannessen, Build It, Sally Wells, and Lassen Canyon Nursery. The exhibition is created and traveled by Stage Nine Exhibit Design.
