If you strum a guitar and sing at home, and find that the dogs don’t howl and the family doesn’t drive away on some imaginary errand, it might be time to try an open mike/mic. Learn two or three songs, head out to one of our North State venues, introduce yourself to the host, and have a ball.

I host an open mic at the French Gulch Hotel every 3rd Friday of the month. On December 19th I am going to start it at 5:30so that families can come down and have dinner. Hal Johnson lives in Shasta County with his wife and son, having escaped from Southern California 21 years ago.
