Wikipedia defines “maven” as an expert. A real maven is a little obnoxious, like a brother-in-law who says you should have called him before you bought your new car, because he could have gotten you a better deal.
Our mission is to try and find you the best wine bargains in the Redding area without being too obnoxious. We think wine is one of life’s pleasures and should be enjoyed daily. For most of us this means we need to find bottles that cost about the same or less than a six-pack. When we find them you will be the first to know.
Our tasting and rating system is simple. We will prowl the local markets looking for bargains. We do this anyway.
We will bring them home and share them with our spouses. We do this anyway.
Every now and then we will pick up a few extra bottles and have a tasting with friends. We just started doing this and it’s a good thing. Wines will be rated as follows:
Hoorah = run out and buy it before they run out
Yah = enjoyable would buy again
Nah = Life is too short to drink bad wine marinate something in it.
The following are the results of two recent tastings.
